Why do doctors recommend the EZqure Device?Electrotherapy is the only treatment rated (2009) by the European and US Pressure Ulcers Advisory Panels (EPUAP and NPUAP) with the highest strength of evidence - A. The EZqure is the only electrotherapy device proven (therapeutic effectiveness) in a Randomized Control Trial (RCT). The EZqure is the only electrotherapy device which is based on a fundamental endogenous bioelectrical signal discovered and validated on humans. EZqure heals difficult-to-heal wounds with a success rate of over 80%, a significantly higher success rate than that of vacuum, hyperbaric oxygen chamber and local oxygen technologies, which reach a maximum of 56%. Average recovery time for a wound smaller than 25 square centimeters is less than 80 days. EZqure healed thirty to forty year old wounds that did not respond to any other treatment. What are EZqure's indications for use?EZqure is approved for the treatment of chronic non-healing wounds that include Diabetic Foot, Pressure ulcers (Decubitus), Vascular (Vein or Arterial) ulcers and other wounds that are resistant to standard or advanced care and even to more complex treatments. EZqure is an adjunctive (added) therapy to the standard care (dressing), it's applied on healthy skin and does not get in the way of the dressing. EZqure is approved for clinical use at the hospital, clinic and home care settings. These indications are approved in Europe (CE), Brazil, Argentina, Colombia and Israel.

How does the EZqure device used?The EZqure device is comprised of two elements; 1. A single channel bioelectrical stimulator. 2. A pair of EZqure's adhesive disposable surface electrodes. Electrodes are placed on the healthy skin at least 3 cm from the wound (noninvasive). The device is easily operated using buttons and a control screen. The bioelectrical transmission starts only after the automated check of appropriate electrodes placement. The patient is connected to the EZqure device only during treatment sessions. In most cases the treatment is not felt, when it does the feeling is no more then a slight tickling sensation.

What is EZqure's mode of action?The EZqure device uses bioelectrical signal therapy - The non-invasive EZqure electrical transmission device mimics the naturally occurring pulses of healing wounds (“normal wounds”) and creates an electric induction field around the hard-to-heal wound, which accelerates the healing rate. The EZqure triggers the following effects: 1. Wound Healing - Initiation and acceleration of the wound healing process. 2. Pain - Reduction of local pain. 3. Tissue viability - Significant increase in: a. Granulation – regeneration of viable connective tissue. b. Epithelialization – regeneration of viable epithelial tissue. c. Vascularization (angiogenesis) – regeneration of vital blood vessels.

What is the safety profile of the EZqure device?EZqure transmits a low intensity bioelectrical current of 0.3mA/cm2 (less then 1mA per cm2). Due to this low intensity current; - The treatment with EZqure is painless. - Patients are using EZqure with good compliance. More than 50,000 treatment sessions were applied by the device with no report on severe adverse effects. The safety profile of the device was evaluated and proven in a randomized control trial.

What are the treatment's frequency and duration?The EZqure is applied 2 to 3 times a day, each treatment session lasts for 30 minutes.

What is the average time for treatment completion?A complete closure of hard-to-heal wounds achieved after 15 to 140 days, with an average of 78 days, for wounds that did not heal with standard care for 240 days prior to the application of the EZqure device. It has been shown that treatment with the device may result in complete closure within half the time in comparison to standard care alone. An improved wound bed prognosis (from "chronic" to "acute") is usually observed after two weeks of treatment. Superficial wounds positively reacted to the treatment faster than deep wounds. Patients who also suffered from central neurological comorbidities and had chronic wounds that were resistant to other treatments, reacted positively and wounds were improved by the device. Patients with spinal cord injury may need more time to react to the treatment i.e., first indication of improvement occurs usually after 1 month.

A study about the device’s effects on oxygen at the wound site was published in EMEA journal 2011. The signal of the device, therapeutic effectiveness and mode of action were published in JWC 2010. Reports on the device therapeutic effects were published in EWMA journal 2008 and 2009. The results of the randomized control study were published as an oral abstract at EWMA 2007. *The above studies predates the EZqure brand name but refer to the same device.
